RESULTS OF INNOCHEM TRAINING ACTIVITIES

Organisation of INNOCHEM short-term fellowships for young scientists participating to INNOCHEM, to enhance cohesion among INNOCHEM partners. Two type of fellowship were available: "Collaborative programme" and "Technology transfer". At the end of the five years the students which have received fellowships for the training programme supported by INNOCHEM are listed below:

Organisation of training courses/meetings.

  • Course on "Methodological approaches to Leukocyte Migration" has been organised from 24 to 26 September 2007 in Madrid at the Centro National de Biotecnologia. 30 students from laboratories of INNOCHEM partners have been accepted to participate to the course.
  • Course and Workshop "Infammation and cancer", Humanitas, Rozzano, Italy. The Course and workshop have been held on November 7-9, 2007. Five students from laboratories of INNOCHEM partners and from Eastern European countries have been awarded with fellowships for participating to the Course and the Workshop.

Course on “Accessory skills for bio-entrepreneurship” organised by partner 22 (ALTA, Siena – Italy) on April 2‑6, 2008. The following INNOCHEM participants have taken part to the course:

  • Course on “Modelling chronic inflammatory diseases in animals” has been held in Orleans on April 20-22, 2009 (Organising committee: Mauro Teixeira, Bernhard Ryeffle, Mariagrazia Uguccioni, Alberto Mantovani). 23 students from laboratories of INNOCHEM partners have been accepted to participate to the course.
  • 2nd European Congress in Immunology (Berlin, September 13-16, 2009). Nineteen young scientists working in INNOCHEM partner laboratories have been awarded a fellowship to participate to the 2nd European Congress in Immunology (Berlin, September 13-16, 2009). Each of them has presented their work as poster or oral presentation.
  • Tri-Society Annual Conference. Cellular and Cytokine Interactions in Health and Disease. Lisbon, October 17-21 2009. Seven young scientists working in INNOCHEM partner laboratories have been awarded a fellowship to participate to the Tri-Society Annual Conference (Lisbon, October 17-21, 2009). Each of them has presented their work as poster or oral presentation. 
  • Course on “From Scientific Discovery to Therapeutic Interventions: Trials and Tribulations ” has been held in Siena (Italy) on June 4-6, 2011 (Organising committee: Alberto Mantovani, Costantino Pitzalis, Aldo Tagliabue, Mariagrazia Uguccioni). 28 students from laboratories of INNOCHEM partners and outside the INNOCHEM consortium have been accepted to participate to the course.
  • Gordon Research Conference on Chemotactic Cytokines (Il Ciocco, Italy, May30-June4, 2010). Fourteen young scientists working in INNOCHEM partner laboratories have been awarded a fellowship to  participate to the Gordon Research Conference on Chemotactic Cytokines. This is the most important conference  on chemokines that bring together scientists working in the field from all over the world, and in the spirit of  every Gordon Conference gives enough time for informal discussions between renowned scientists and the young  participants.
  • Joint Meeting of the International Cytokine Society (ICS) and the International Society for Interferon and  Cytokine Research (ISICR): “Cytokines in infectious diseases, autoimmune disorders, and cancer” (Chicago, USA, October 3-7, 2010). Four young scientists working in INNOCHEM partner laboratories have been awarded a fellowship to  participate to this international meeting.
  • The INNOCHEM final meeting, was organized in Berlin October 11-13.  Twenty-four young scientists working in INNOCHEM partner laboratories have been awarded a fellowship to  participate to the meeting.
